The many languages of TLK (and so similar voices)

Wow, I´m checking the MP3s in many languages of The Lion King and I´m surprised!!
I´m a dubbing fan and I´ve always been so interesed about the different versions of one picture in each country. I´ve listened different versions of "Can you feel the love tonight" (my prefer song) and i LOVE the Russian song: the female singer is so sweet and powerful at the same time... great!! (simba´s voice is great and nala´s too, and Timón and Pumbaa... !!) And it´s true that the Disney supervisors do their work in several countries because the "colour" of the voices is so similar between them...

In Spain we dub every picture (Original version is not very popular here because in cinemas and on tv we watch everything translated to Spanish language).
How is it in other countries? (Russia, Polonia, France, ...) Do you only dub Disney and animated pictures and the other films are on English or do you see everything in your language?

I prefer the original language of the movie. (English.)
Because translations usually is too clumsy and inexact... A big part of beauty is lost with them...

If we want to watch something in original we should bue a DVD
in the cinemas and tv we watchin' russian versions

but actually we have one cinema when you can watch films without dub ? and if you want to hear it you should to wear special earphones

hope you understand my english :)

Beltar
I don't like Russian version. It has too many inaccuracy (and I sure other localization's too), because translators try to synchronize the speech with the lips movement.

My own point of view is an equal exactly with Kovur's. :)

Right, I understand your points of view: English version is original, like their creators wanted to make the film... it´s true!! :)

And about the movement of the lips, it´s true that not always the same phrase can have the same consonants in other language and it´s necesary to make the adaptation. In Spain they try to care about this problem, and sometimes they get it... but not always!! ;/

Thanks for your replies!!

I usually am watching move in polish and in english. It might have been two diferent movies. For example Shrek. Polish and English people, has a diferent sence of humor so it make the movie so diferent that original. The lion king is perfect in every version!

Well in general I have looked the Spanish, Russian and English version. Certainly, the original the best, but also the Spanish version has very much liked me (can, because I love this language? :D ). But Russian... I shall agree with Beltar - on this account. Especially I did not like a voice of Nala - it too "affected". And voice of Mufasa cannot be so powerful, as at Erl Johns.

I cannot agree with you here. All the same Lion King is a Lion King, it seems to me, we are obliged to hear voices of true actors because they really give heroes a life. And that I have listened in Russian on me has filled with boredom (I has looked simply for interest Russian dubbing-in). Because at once it is visible, as actors try "to be entered" that up to them original actors have made.

P.S.Yes, and still - translation for example of Simba's Pride awful (I mean dubbing-in). Not only that some sounds there have not got (when Zira has for example come Nuka on a tail in a song my lullaby and in other moments), the timbre of voices is picked up SIMPLY DISGUSTINGLY!

To me:

The Lion King: ****
TLK:6NA: **1/2
Simba's Pride: **1/2
Hakuna Matata: **
Leaders of the Pride: ***
Chronicles of the Pridelands: **1/2

Only the original is the best. (I listed the fanfic among the movies for reference)

And I speak it already for a long time ;) well it is impossible to collect so many professional actors in one place as it was made by Disney ;)

Here in Sweden almost every movie comes with original languages.
Only the kiddiemovies are dubbed and very often the kiddiemovies are showed in cinemas both as dubbed and with original languages.
Like for example:

18:00 Madagaskar fr. 7år (svenskttal) <-- = (Swedish language)

20:30 Madagaskar fr. 7år (engelskttal) <-- = (Original language + Swe sub)

I really like the way Swedish/Norwegian/Danish sounds. Reading it and hearing it, you wouldn't think that the spoken word is the same as the text. Sounds beautiful, really.

Something I'd like to do is hear The Lion King in both Danish and German.

Hmm... I like the German version and the Russion version of "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" - otherwise I prefer English, for when I hear it in my own language, I do have to hide under the bed...

If i follow up on shadowfox's thought's...
I really like Can you feel the love tonight in german. (Kann es wirklich liebe sein) Nala's voice in that version is really hot.
But ofcourse English version pwns everyversion imo... The other versions don't have Sally D. :D
and btw swedish version both songs and movie makes me laugh my ass of.
It sounds so stupid and looks stupid to... cause you're like used to hearing the english words with the moments and everything is so wrong... okey now i'm rambeling. :D
Still swedish TLK = ROFLMAO :omgfun
